Can I assume that you are doing this yourself and sending the bills to the motorcycle's insurance company ?

Otherwise, why would you be repairing the damages yourself ?

Other possibility: The motorcycle wasn't the party at fault and you have no collision coverage (hard to believe given the value of an 04 MINI).

Sorry... can't help but act like an insurance guy. That's what I am.

CRPWJB i know you are an adjuster and thats all well and good. the official report says i'm at fault because i was making a left but he was travelling well in excess of the speed limit based on crash scene reconstruction which i'm sure you are familiar with. but the court case isn't scheduled till next month and i want to repair the car now. i need to get this resolved asap and i'm going to do the repairs myself and then bill the insurance company after the fact for the repairs. i will bill according to the estimate since labor is only "free" because it is my own. the parts include the rear quarter and bumper he caught me in the back half of my rear tire so you can imagine had he used the brakes on his motorcycle instead of crashing right through me i would not be in this perdicament.

its tough not to get jaded based on your day to day job. i know i get really get annoyed with some people's investment decisions.

Wasn't trying to insunuate anything... just trying to make sense of why anyone would want to do their own repair work after an accident.

Press on. But I'd be surprised if you win this one. It's VERY difficult to use speed to place fault on another driver. Not saying it's impossible. Very difficult.

Good luck to you !!

I have a rear bumper cover, if you need one.
I did my own repair work.
Insurance paid.
No issues.

Lots of armchair quarterbacks out there.

When it comes to auto claims, I assure you I'm not on any armchair.

why don't you give the guy some credit armchair. Never say never maybe he could have a case. I deal with you guys on a Regular basis, so it goes both ways.

Good luck goblin

could you be more specific on the parts you need ... maybe a list compiled from realOEM.com

I do know of a MINI dismantler that will ship. mini recycling 800.926.5900

I didn't say never. Read much ? I said it would be difficult to win a case based on the other driver's speed. It's difficult to prove either in arbitration or through litigation.

And you deal with us guys on a regular basis ? That makes you an expert in claim handling ? What kind of training did you have ? Do you even know who "you guys" are ?

greengobln, my apologies for the hi-jacking and bickering in your thread. Maybe you can look at it as a free "bump".
