I just talked to Anthony he said the SIM is done ... if you want one you need to e-mail him so he can gain interest and base pricing off the quantity of people that want them:
Please send the email directly since its much easier to track orders based on emails than the forum names. It saves us a lot of time in regards to getting the inventory ready for the orders coming in. The SIM is currently working, without any pending codes/actual codes. The current setup will hopefully be ready by the end of the month. We can in process of ordering actual o2 sensors in bulk so we can start the modifications we need to do. We will of course keep everybody posted!
Just a quick update. We are still trying to see how many we need to make. So keep the emails coming if you need this product.
I am getting a lot of emails asking "is it done yet" we will let you guys know when its ready. We won't rush it into production due to pressure. This is how things go wrong, and products fail. We will do a lot of testing before it's released. We have ran it for a few hundred miles, and its worked perfect. We are now getting another car in here with the CEL to put it on, and run it to make sure it works on more than 1 car. It will also give us the opportunity to make the DIY etc....Thank you!
Engine: Alta Turbo Back Exhaust, Alta Boost Tubes, Alta Inctercooler, and JCW Intake Interior: Stewart Warner Boost Gauge Suspension : 19mm H&R Rear Sway, JCW Strut Bar, Mach V Springs Wheels: 16 OZ Ultraleggera
The circuitry is pretty much all completed. We've done quite a few data-logging runs to see the consistency in our system. Everything looks like a go. We are going to continue using the system with our downpipes and will see if a one of our local test cars with another aftermarket downpipe will have the same results!
if I could pick up my downpipe this week, id be happy to be a guinnea pig for the o2 SIM since I'm local (los angeles)
it might help get the field testing done a little faster for you guys..
We are building a couple more sample units right now. We would like to run the testing on your car as well. We want to use at least 3 - 5 cars. We also need to hook a scope up to monitor/track whats going on. I will contact you when we are ready to put it on. If you want to pick up your DP we can arrange that as well no problem. Thank you!
Just ordered mine! Can't wait, I've been waiting to install my ALTA turbo back for this fix. Thank you RR for providing this product to R56 owners.
Thank you! This is for the email list guys only. If you did not send an email to me for the first batch you can send an email now at anthony@rissracing.com.
It's obvious they aren't monitoring the board while they finish these two primary projects up.
THE PHONE IS YOUR FRIEND! If you are truly concerned, pick up the phone and call them (like I did yesterday). Granted, everyone calling them is worse than the repeated posts from a productivity perspective, but at least its a direct line to whomever is answering the phones rather than creating a false sense of non-responsiveness within the community. Personally, I have had no issue reaching RISS via email or phone on *every* attempt.
(Note: I'm not trying to send a cut down on you, Jeff, so please don't be insulted; just using your impatience, as it mirrors all of ours, as a means to illustrate the effectiveness of picking of the phone and communicating directly versus throwing pixels into the ether-space.)
Cheers.

I'm just curious how this CEL fix addresses a "fuel savings"
My experience with CEL's (at least with numerous Audis) was that they are nothing more than a light, and has no effect on fuel economics whether or not the light was on or off. The CEL might be on because your car is running rich/lean or for other reasons..and THIS may be affecting your fuel etc, but as a "contributer to power loss, and poor gas mileage"...I'm not too certain about that.
Like I said, this was my experience with Audi's so it may be completely different for Mini, but I'm not sure how. Even after fixing a CEL issue on an Audi, the dreaded light would pop up intermittently anyway..modded OR stock.
if someone could explain this, warranting a ~$300 fix just to turn a light off...welcome to the soap box and I'm all ears

Seriously, that is way too high. I was waiting patiently for this release only to find out it is way too expensive for what it is. I understand there was a lot of R&D involved, but that is twice as much as I was expecting to pay. I'll just wait until that price drops, which I'm not surprised will happen since I doubt these are selling too well at that price.
