Riss Racing R56 BOV - Stage 1 & Stage 2 Group buy!!!
Hi guys, Here to release the newest product from the Riss Racing R56 product line. We are sorry for not being able to post the pictures last week, we just finished up the video today so we wanted to do a full release of the product. These are the new Riss Racing Stage I and Stage II Blow off Valve Kits for the R56 Mini Cooper S. The Stage I and Stage II systems of the Riss Racing blow off valve kits are made for those looking at keep the turbo life to a maximum. For those looking at getting the top of the line system for your Mini Cooper S/JCW, this is the way to go. A high performance Blow Off Valve is needed for all turbo applications. The purpose of the Riss Racing blow off valve is to relieve compressor surge without reducing compressor speed. It controls boost pressure that is built up by the turbo and vents it into the atmosphere when the car is not under load or in between shifts. This prevents pressure from backing up into the compressor housing, causing the turbo impeller blade to rapidly stop or spin backwards. Repeated stress over time can cause eminent damage to the turbo charger and eventually lead to turbo failure. The Riss Racing Blow off valve increase turbo life, performance, and response.
Riss Racing Stage I blow off valve system:Stage I is recommended for stock and bolt-on applications (Anodized Black Unit)
• Single spring adjustment system (Top turn knob for easy adjustability)
• Riss Racing anodized black finish with Riss Racing Logo

• Holds 1.2 bar+ (18+ psi)
• All kits include Riss Racing Boost box (additional tap to run BOV and/or Boost gauge) PRICE: $249.00 + shipping (group buy pricing)
Stage II is recommended for bolt on applications and/or tuned systems (+psi) (Polished unit)

• Riss Racing polished finish with Riss Racing Logo
• Seal and greased for better performance and less friction
• Holds 20+ psi (depending on spring used)

The group buy will consist of the first 15 members. After the first 15 are met, we will go back up to retail pricing. When ordering, please send an email with your NAM user name so we can add it to the list. Kits will be shipping out in about 3-6 weeks. If you have any questions/concerns, please do not hesitate to email or PM us. We're here to help the community with the best products for your R56's. Thanks guys!
When you watch the video you also get a new perspective of the sound of the RR exhaust - awesome.
They've had my car for six weeks now - even more stuff is in the pipeline. Next week I'll get my MINI back and drive it for about a week; I'll then return it to RR for more R&D.
I'll let you know of my butt-dyno and calibrated ear results.
Blow off valves are not for ricers only! A definite decrease in turbolag between shifts. I like this one better than mine since you can actually see it in the engine compartment. That stage II looks very mean

Thanks for all your help by letting us use your car!

Thanks for the kind words Shane! We really wanted the BOV to be visible. Think it looks good when you pop the hood.
Does that side pipe connect to the noise maker? If it does, can we opt not to have it?
Hi Slinger,
The BOV system changes the rubber hose to the aluminum hard piping kit with the BOV. It doesn't eliminate the noise maker as we wanted to make the easiest system to install on the vehicle. We may develop a kit later to eliminate the noise maker if this is something the majority would want.

I expected that was so. I removed my noisemaker quite a while ago and would prefer to get a tube w/o the junction.
DO NOT touch the solenoid diverter valve. The VTA BOV works in conjunction with the car's stock diverter valve. I've had my BOV on my R56 for over 6000 miles without CELs. It will work fine.

Great video, we appreciate the many perspectives that it gives. Exhaust sounds mean too!
Thank you very much. We've put a lot of time into development on the kit. We wanted to make a unit that is very easy to install, along with the performance gains you can see/hear/feel immediately. The RR BOV kit really gives the Mini the performance Turbo sound it needs!
You'll be extremely happy with the full system. Again the Riss Racing boost box is included with every purchase. You are able to run our BOV system along with a boost gauge if you'd like! Always monitor your boost levels. Sometimes, its very difficult to "feel" boost spike/overboosting.

Anyone that's pondering buying a BOV should know there is nothing quite like passing some slow-poke with their windows down and shifting through your gears with a BOV. I cannot lie... it makes me feel like a badass

^^haha, yeah i do it with my stockness and its definitely not getting the effect that this one would give in that situation...im honestly using this video to decide on the exhaust, i feel its a better representation of it compared to the one demonstrating it in the exhaust group buy thread...hmm decisions decisions

Its a nice way to say "move over" without having to say a word!
Its really a wonderful unit that provides gains/throttle response and helps to make sure the turbo doesn't spin the opposite directly. Eventually, the back spin can make the turbine loose and cause disruption under load.
