DY, why didn't you post some wide open throttle runs with the engine speed at least hitting 4500 rpm?! Either way, it doesn't sound too nasty or raspy. Good stuff in my book!

Hey Riss Peeps,

Any ideas on how the, I have to say it, loud drone between 3-4k can be alleviated. Is there a center resenator pipe that can replace the straight pipe, and how much is it, and when can I get it?

Center resonator section is on our site. You can purchase it and we can ship them out early next week! Most people are going to have a lot of fun fully catless. It just sounds awesome.

UPDATE:

We have 2 or 3 exhaust orders that still need to go out. We have checked with our local ceramic coater just right now and they are still not finished yet. They said Tuesday/Wed next week latest. We really apologize for getting the last few sets out so late. We just had a shouting match with our coaters now but it won't change anything. Wednesday is the latest the systems will go out. Please email me for your specifics and I'll make sure they're personally taken care of.

Ha, you need to come to Detroit because they would be too busy finding their daily murder victim

what happened?

Resonators, 2ndary cats, and straight pipes allow you to really tune the sound you're looking for. The system will come standard with titanium burnt tips but we can black them out if needed. Thanks guys!
This is what RISS posted on the first page of this forum, I ordered mine with a resonator, a $99 extra option... and that's the way it came with. What happened to the interchangeable components?

Hey Adam,

thanks for your response. So this will lower the sound in the cab? And I just want to set the record straight. I love the way it sounds but it's a bit too loud in the cabin. Do you have my ordering info or do I need to do it via your website?

Hey Adam,

What's with the price increase on the resonator. Just two days ago it was 99.00 now that I go to order it it's 150.00.

Since you quoted 100.00 can I still get it for that price?

Oh man! I've been so busy bugging RR with receiving my products I totally forgot about the interchangeability of the resonator part. And I do remember Adam and Anthony telling me the same thing.

So what do we do now? the good thing is I don't really need it now and may never need it, but I would like it since I did pay for it.

I hope the quality of the other riss products is better than the exhaust! I had exhaust tips that needed to be cut to fit even ,exhaust hangers that are uneven and i needed to shim the brace to clear the mid pipe.

sounds ok but around 3 to 4 k it booms even with a resonater.

I should have purchased a way motor works or a militek

Same deal here. I had to have the exhaust weld to my downpipe since the clamp won't fit.
The sound around 3 to 4K RPM is unforgiving...

The quality is lacking! How did riss service the bmw market with this quality ? Is it because we drive just a mini and not a bmw ?

Missing parts, bad fit, bad measurement but sounds good above 4k ,glad i waited for the riss exhaust.

If i remember riss posted about hand fitting each system before shipping.what happened ? or was it smoke?

I hope my downpipe and o2 sim are of better quality !

Riss please do not ship any more hack quality ,remember happy customers make for a strong business .

Damn. I wad hoping that the resonator would fix the 3-4k issue. If it doesn't I'm returning the whole system too.

Resonater does not help at all

Maybe Riss will do the right thing

Thoughts?

We put it on one piece at a time but didn't tighten everything until it was all in place .. than tightened from the rear back .. ending with the V-clamp.

Did you read my review post ... this sounds EXACTLY like what we ran into ..
and all I did was spin the midpipe around (front to back) and all the problems were solved.
