I hope to get mine this week because my dyno is free until next monday( a
wicked ford gt with twin turbos coming in for some tuning)
Stig,
The SIM is still in production. We are waiting on the IC chips to program the run. The boards, and other materials are already built on our end. We are still on time with the SIMs.
Does this mean my down pipes has shipped as well? That thread is a ghost town. All i ordered was the dp btw.
All polished downpipes have shipped. Coated downpipes ship either wednesday or friday depending on your line in order. If you would like to email me anthony@rissracing.com your order number I will get your specific order details. I will also update the DP thread now. Thank you!
For all those getting their exhaust please make sure you save your instructions when you are doing the install. There is only one way the exhaust goes on. The sections look very similar. We have stamped the top of all the flanges to match up, and we have included picture install instructions. If you have any issues/questions please call us 714-850-0139 or email techsupport@rissracing.com and you will have a response in 24 hours. Thank you!

What does on time mean? Now we're gonna get the DP's with no SIM's? Wow!!!

I envy you! I get mine tomorrow according to FedEx and won't be able to do the install myself until Saturday because of business travel.

Make sure you have your shop follow the instructions with the stamps or he will be there forever like a jig saw puzzle. If you need help call us 714-850-0139. Thank you!
Just got my exhaust system, opened everything but still not sure what the free option is... I did get a box with full of free brown papers. Inside the Hardware+Instructions Envelop: 9 bolts with washers and 3 gaskets. No freebies as far as I am concerned....
You mean they didn't give us a free issue of Playboy?!

Guys, I received the exhaust today and it looks AWESOME!!! I will have it installed asap and give you guys a nice report. The free surprise is that RR has coated the cans for all of us.
Just spoke to Anthony, and he hopes to have my coated catless DP shipped out on Friday as well as the BOV kit.
Also, I will be receiving the oil catch can this Friday.
Things are starting to look better I must say!!
Thanks RR!!

Thank you, and thanks to the rest of you for letting us work through this initial rush. We know how hard it is to order parts and have to wait. We are glad everybody seems to be happy with the exhaust. We have had a few phone calls from guys that got the exhaust on already, and love the sound! Let us know if you guys need any help with installs phone support is free of course
Finally got my exhaust installed today and here is my initial review:
Pros:
Very beautifully coated muffler
Sweet polished tips
When you start the car you get a nice pur at idle
Cons:
My wife hates it because it's loud. Louder than I thought it would be. So far my kids haven't complained, but the interior does vibrate.
The exhaust tips extend past the rear bumper which brings back the issue of burning one's leg at contact. Looking at the initial photo Riss posted, the tips didn't stick out. Design Change?
Currently you can smell some light metallic burning and I'm assuming the unit is breaking in.
So ask the weeks go buy, I'll see how I get acustomed to the sound decibles.

My review:
Let me start by saying the "purr" this thing gives is just dead sexy. I can't emphasize that enough.
However, I'm a detail freak... so here are my straight thoughts. Where am I coming from? I've had the OEM JCW exhaust (not bad in sound), stratmosphere with OEM DP (best sounding prior to the full RR), Strat with RR Catless/Coated DP (damned racing trumpet) and now the full RR exhaust. I've also been in a car with the full Alta exhaust as well as one with the Borla axelback.
Some feedback:
-I'm kinda surprised you guys didn't tig weld the inside of the tube against the casting. Having said that, the rest of the welds looked really good.
-Thanks for coating the can; definitely a nice surprise.
-On the resonator, its clear someone got really lazy with my particular tube; the tube, upon being cut and prior to welding didn't have the burrs grinded off (all the way around).
-putting it together on the car was a snap with one exception; mine didn't have the stamps talked about in the directions. I had NO Xs and only one C. Fortunately, I work with pros and we figured it out. A Note to all you folks out there, the midpipe should NOT sit on the black frame piece... if you spin the pipe around (front to back), it will clear no problem.
-The v-band clamp works fine at the DP, but we definitely had our nervous minutes when we looked at the size of the hump on the exhaust versus the flange on the DP. It's a new angle and I suspect after I've run the exhaust for a while (broken in), I'll have to put it back up on the rack to tighten it.
-Doesn't quite sit the way I would like it to in the rear, but I'm picky as hell ... however, it works.
-Again, the thing sounds great. Its better than the trumpet I had going on with the RR DP mated with the stratmosphere (in essence straight pipe from turbo back). Having said that, the resonance (note I didn't say drone) at 3-4k is ... L O U D. Much louder than it needs to be (maybe this will get less so upon break in????). I'm going to have to adjust my shifting to minimize sitting in that band.
I had the shop (BRR Performance), since they have fab abilities and a kick ass welder, remove the burs and smooth the insides tubes and erase the gaps with a TIG.
Of the images below, 89 and 90 (second and third pic) are what you will see if the midpipe is on wrong. 91 (First one) is what it should look like.
Overall though, I'm pretty satisfied with the product to price ratio.
Looking forward to getting the titanium burnt tips (as promised) and the 02 SIM. I'm also wondering what happened to getting both the resonator and race pipe in the box versus just the resonator; my understanding was that I was going to get both.

I agree jproz, I have to same issue with the LOUD decibles while between 3 - 4k, and also have to adjust my shifting. Other than that it's a very sweet system. Would love to see some dyno numbers posted after system is installed.
According to my mechanic, Edgar, from Import World Auto, the only issue with installation was having to slightly bend the heat sheild to allow for some clearance.
Im having some slight issues getting mine installed.
Can anyone give advice on putting on the v-band clamp? Im having a hell of a time getting mine on.
Did you guys assemble it on the floor first then put it on the car? or install each section on the car one at a time? I did mine on the floor and its not lining up all that well so Im thinking I need to dis assemble it and put it together on the car.
