This is a long process. We have it working. Code P0420 is gone there is not a CEL. We are getting a new code but it is something we just need to tinker with in the SIM to get it dialed in. We will have it working ASAP. This is our top priority right now. Thank you!
Just got my catless downpipe today Anthony. Looks great! Now I'm anticipating the exhaust system for a weekend warrior project. I cannot wait to ditch the heavy and under-performing Alta system.

The weekend warrior project seems to be a very promising one! Lets get a few more people on the GB and we'll do the full development of the system and have them all shipping out!
Ok sorry to be a bother im like a kid on xmas eve waiting for his presants haha. Lets see a riss racing turbo kit hah.
The funny thing is this was talked about 2 years ago when we were in full development on the 335i. Its not too difficult to make a complete system and the installation wouldn't be too hard either. Finding the right setup with the right tune is key with getting these cars to perform with minimal lag and HUGE top end. Is there a demand???
My catless dp will be installed on thursday (coupled with the already installed Stratmosphere exhaust http://www.stratmosphere.com/mini_exhausts.htm; would have gone Riss on the exhaust too, but I had already bought the strat.. what can I say, I'm impatient). I'll try and get some sound clips up over the weekend.

I'm curious how it will sound with that exhaust. Is the exhaust loud now? Looking forward to the sound clips

With the stock downpipe, subjectively, I say its louder than the Alta turbo-back setup (which I found rather appealing sound-wise but thought, at some point, I'd be disappointed by the less aggressive sound). However, the Borla is quite a bit louder than the strat.
I based my original purchasing decision by being driven around in 3 Minis, one with each of the respective exhausts above (all of which had been "broken in").

Alright .. so while the strat was less loud (volume) prior (with stock DP), after the DP install, this thing is LOUD. I guess its expected; its basically a straight pipe from the turbo back now.
Loving the sound. WOT is like a race car (I kid you not). Highway driving is fine; no drone.
Acceleration is where the volume really goes and everyone within a 1/4 of a mile knows its me.
Anyway .. I'll try and get some sound videos in the next several days. We'll see how well I get used to the sound. I may end up throwing a muffler on... only time will tell.
Feedback for RR: The downpipe angle with the flange (where it connects to the flex pipe) was a little awkward. We got it to work, but it seemed a bit more angled than the OEM. Nothing to go crazy over, but that was the only difficult part of the install; the rest was a breeze for the tech I had do it (BRRacing). Had there not been a flex part at the joint, it would have been more difficult.
No CEL yet, but I expect it within the next week once the ECU realizes there isn't a cat there anymore.
All in all very satisfied; the RR DP is a quality piece of work.

Yea i mean the stock turbo does its job but tgeirs allways room for improvement theirs big hype with a alta big turbo kit on the forums but they wont give a date theirs another kit that uses a gt28rs but i feel like the turbi is too big and would spoolslow in a 1.6L engine. You guys should do a pre intercooler charge pipe with hardpiping tho. Everything out tgere is cylicone and it expands under stress i have the alta one and itwasnt quite long enough so my front mount sits slightly crooked. Thanks for the quick respobses tho im dynoing the car thursday b4 the downpipe then after i install it.

Too big? ur kidding right?
in 1989 the nissan skyline was running 2x T-28's (the slower spooling older tech non BB turbo variant of the GT28RS)
it had a 2.6liter engine.. 3 cyl per turbo.. that means 1.3liters were pushing each turbo...
T28 is a TINY turbo... and our mini's suffer terribly in the top end cuz of the small turbo choking it.. after 5k the car just falls on it's face..
u don't know what lag is my friend...

ok so i installed my dp last night and i couldnt wait to start the car
differences i noticed:
-deeper tone of exhaust (SWEET SOUND! )
-my butt dyno knows i gained more power
-no drone at all on highway
-even when i drive slow its not too loud to notice (sounds like regular catback)
-i also hear the turbo spool even louder than before
i cant wait to go dyno the car
overall super pleased with the dp, thanks RR

Yes, how was the install? Is there a write somewhere so I can try to attempt this myself?
We did the entire PDF DIY however we erased all the pics by mistake when uploading from our SLR. We are going to re shoot and have it up ASAP. In the meantime the install is designed to be very simple. We can walk you through it via phone no problem.
I'm a mechanical boso, so nothing will help me out more than a well written DIY with nice pictures and clear step by step instructions. Thanks RR for the great support and communication once again.

No problem. I will rush the DIY for you, and as always we will have the phone support available.
