I am President and Co-founder of Middle Georgia MINIs located in Warner Robins, GA. I am posting on your forum because I have a friend in need of help there in Vancouver. His son went missing in Vancouver, BC: hasn’t been seen since 14 Feb 2010. My friend’s name is Walter Koenig, his son, Andrew has been fighting clinical depression for most of his life and is most likely in need of help.
I figured the MINI community is like a big family and the fine members of Vancouver MINI Cooper Club felt the same way. It is highly important we find Andrew soon, before he thinks of hurting himself. If you see him (pictures of him are on the following website) call the Vancouver Police immediately and let them know of his whereabouts, then please PM me right away so I can get word to his family. This is Walter’s site regarding his son’s disappearance: http://www.walterkoenigsite.com.
Please pass this on to your members and to any surrounding MINI Clubs, maybe someone has seen Andrew there.
Thanks beken and smurfette26. I'm glad the story is getting a lot of attention up there. Walter should be in Vancouver starting today and I am sure he's talking to Andrew's friends. Definitely keep the Koenig family in your thoughts and prayers.
I want to express my appreciation to the both of you and the Vancouver MINI Cooper Club, ya'll are the best!!
As you have already heard, it is with a heavy heart and great sadness that I tell those who don't know, Andrew took his life today.
We may never understand why Andrew felt the only way to end his emotional pain was to take his own life; but unfortunately those suffering with depression often do so in silence. Please keep the Koenig family in your prayers. I would also like to ask that all of you reading this post, read as much as you can regarding depression and suicide...know the warning signs. Watch after one another and do not be afraid to get help for those who are suffering silently. Make a difference.
Thank you for looking for Andrew, I know the family appreciates the effort, I appreciate you getting the word out.
