Sometimes I find the seatbelt buckle is banging up against the hard plastic around the seats. Also, the rubber balls that hang from the boot cover can swing around in your boot if you're cornering or hitting bumps. Otherwise, just make sure your seat surfaces are reasonably clean.
I'm getting almost 400km per tank on MCS city driving. Over that if it's stricly highway. So your car is in the range.

Check your air pressure in the tires and the engine intake air filter. 90% of the time when a MINI owner tells me they are getting poor gas mileage, it's because the tires are low on air. 400km (248 miles) per tank is pretty poor.

I removed the boot cover completely and lowered the passenger side seat. I took the headrest off too. Its in the seat itself and from what i have read on other forums it may need outright replacment. I also wiped down the seats with cleaner. My air pressure is good but 400 km seems low when buddy in twassassen gets 700km a tank on a cooper s? I have never had a car so poorly built in the interior ( had a dashboard buzz, ipod adapter never worked, drivers windows creaks (fixed with autoglym for about a month) , temperature gage broke) but its fun to drive and has a lot of bells and whistles so what can you do?

Hi Seatosky, looks like those who manage highway as their major use get over 500 kms per tank. MC Ss get between 20 to 40 mpg, depending.
For pressure i`ve settled on 35 front, 33 rear for most ripping around. Any less in the front and you get understeer turning right. Much higher and car bashes over our rotten roads. Guess no one here ever heard of blending man-hole covers level to road.
