The Classic Mini is turning 50 in 2009. This will be part of an open Car Show held each year, the first weekend of June, in Historic Walker Park, (709 North Ruddle Road) Blytheville. We are planning a birthday celebration for the Mini Cooper. Who better to help celebrate Mini’s birthday than “Austin Powers” Mr Richard Halpern. Mini’s and Mini Cooper Clubs are meeting in Blytheville to help fight cancer and to celebrate the Calssic Mini’s Birthday. The Mini clubs will be given a police escort to the show and the key to the City when they get here. For more information contact barry at barrett1@sbcglobal.net
The proceeds benefit The American Cancer Society. The Park and its huge Oak Trees provide great shade and the perfect setting for a Car Show. Last years show attracted well over 500 Cars and Motorcycles and raised more than $27,000 for the fight against cancer.
The Sports Car Club of America (www.scca.org) plans two National events in Blytheville. The Eastern States Championship May 30th and 31st and A ProSolo Event June 6th and 7th.
This year is expected to break all records. The Car Show will be the culmination of a solid week of Car related activities and events.
