Need a windshield replacement

Having a windshield damage last month by a rock from a damn construction truck and had 2 cracks on my windshield. And i went to a auto glass shop for repair and they only fixed one of them. The question is,i need to replace the windshield but where? I called mini dealer in NYC,they said $1000 for replacement and LI dealer, they said $600,so expensive. And i search on the web, like Safelite auto glass,it cost less than $300 but is it reliable. Which one should i pick, mini dealer or auto glass shop. This is my first time for windshield replacement. Please give me some advise. Thanks

Safelite changed mine out two years ago for about $250, and did an excellent job (while I stood there and watched the guy).

Lots of hots days, cold nights, and rough NJ roads with flying gravel since then... with no leaks or cracks, and only a few very minor pits from rocks that probably would have busted another OEM windshield. I am a happy camper!

Having had 7 in 4 years I can say without hesitation DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME ON OEM GLASS! walk, no run, to an auto glass company and have a PPG(Pittsburg Plate Glass) installed. They rock! Hope you don't have rain sensors..................My PPG has outlasted all 6 OEM ........combined!Good luck. Jock
