The Info

START PLACE! this will start from the BALDWIN LIRR TRAIN STATION on Sunrise Hwy.. (Rt 27). and we will leave ideally 9:00 am.. but most likely no later than 9:30. This is across from the Baldwin Coach for those who get there early and want coffee and such.

The good part is the first stop in a 7 minute WALK from the station! Around the Corner on Brookside Ave.. rt north of Sunrise Hwy.

so far.. I have 4 cars.. confirmed

anyone else? Again this is an all day drive and stop and SHOOT (photo)
(we are adding one small stop.. more later)
LUNCH will be a BYOB at Nissaquoque State Park.. on the grounds of the former Kings Park Psychiatric Hospital.. one of our stops. most times are flexible..

I will have sheets on each stop for your info..

the stops and info are:
The Brooklyn WaterWorks ruins in Freeport (approx 10 min)
The Merrick Campgrounds (approx 10 minutes with two houses we have the ok to shoot)
The Checkers Grave (approx 10 minutes )
the King Zog house Ruins (approx 35-40 minutes. this requires a short walk to the ruins inside Muttontown Preserve)
>>> NO MORE!!>>the Tiffany Tower in Laurel Hollow (I'm awaiting the ok for this .. it's a private lot we have to park in.. no more than 10 cars.. and no more than 15 minutes.. which is fine! trust me..)<<< NO MORE<<<
NEW OHEKA Castle this is the Otto HErman KAhn home.. the second largest private house in the US!
The Kings Park Hospital (approx 45 min to 1 hour.. this is also Nissaquoque State Park.. with a great view (walking) overlooking the sound.. this is our LUNCH spot.. it has facilities)
The Wardenclyff/Tesla Lab site(approx 10 minutes.. not approchable due to a fence
the Grumman Memorial site (NEW-- wanna see a F14 on LI??? here's the place.. actually it is on the way to the next site.. 10 minutes)
the Big Duck (yeah.. we've done it before.. but it is odd!.. 10 minutes)
The Bayport Sphinx (approx 10 minutes or less)
The Artist's Colony ( short drive thru on VERY small roads.. and several spots to shoot.. (approx 15-20 minutes)
then up to SmithHaven Mall and AB Silversteins for a great deli dinner (no.. I'm not paying for all of you! sorry)

there you have it! again.,. this isnt a rally.. (but we will hit some nice roads.. you know me) and a camera is required

please let me know if you will attend and if you need to drop out so someone else can attend

It's actually a misspelling of Americium, the element used in smoke detectors....

The list of stops sounds like fun. Wish I was joining you, but duty calls. My wife and nephew will still be attending, and are both very excited about the trip....

Have a blast!

Abe

Rob

Ps dont fergot the camera..
remember.. no camera.. no photo tour..
and please remember.. this will be a tour... like a movable meet..

NOT A SPEED FAST DRIVING RALLEY!!

I wish to emphasise that.. I've heard that some dont want to come because it's not whipping along roads.. ok.. but some are still nice.. (Paul and Pete know me) and there are lights and such.. but we will be visiting Oddities of Long Island..
(see www.lioddities.com )

Ps.. the cops are REALLY out lately... so all must behave

besides.. everyone would luv to see a bunch of mini coopers rolling along.
