JCW drive over the Swiss Alps

I recently took a trip to Europe and decided to rent a JCW for a drive from Munich, Germany to Lugano Switzerland. It was one of the best and funnest things I have ever done. The weather was perfect and the drive was absolutely amazing! I highly recommend it here are some photos from my trip and drive....

101 octane gas was pricey but I could not resist especially when driving on the Autobahn.....

Very cool... The trip must have been beautiful with the Alps to look at all the time.

What year was the JCW? I noticed it had the 2-spoke wheel, although I understand it's still available in Europe. I just wondered which gears the JCW has, because I understand that the older gearing (02-04) gave you a little higher top speed for the autobaun.

So... when are you going to JCW your MINI?

I am not certain of the year of the JCW to be honest.... I likely will not JCW my MINI anytime soon as it is moving with me to Switzerland in November.

I rented the MINI from http://www.eliterent.com/ and it was about 200.00 euros per day.... My final bill was 3700.00 USD so I must say that it was not cheap.... however they do deliver it anywhere that you are located (for a fee of course) I was extremely pleased with the service that they provided.

Dear Irishcow, I too have been fortunate enough to romp around the Swiss countryside in a MSC. I was in Geneva this past March, visiting my cousin. We did a trip over to Chamonix, France in her '05 MCS via "the mountain roads"... that's when I got hooked on the Mini and new I had to have one.

Unfortunately, driving is Texas isn't quite the same.

Good luck with your move and enjoy Switzerland.

I concur! Interestingly though... the mystery photographer who took many of the pics isn't in any of them... Hmmm...

I took most of the scenic photos myself as I found my colleague's finger in alot of pictures so I took the camera back. I also used the occasional local or other tourist to take some as well. I leave for Switzerland again tomorrow and will not have a rental MINI this time but will surely post some beautiful photos.

I am betting it is a 05-06 model based on the dash in this picture:

That trip looks like it was a lot of fun! Definitely something I'd like to be able to in the future.
