Over the water we go!

I just got back from a trip to the south shore of Lake Superior. My Mini and I took a ferry ride to Madeline Island and spent a couple of nights out there.

The ferry could probably transport 15 cars, maybe 20 Minis or more . There should be an event out there just so we can see how many Minis we can fit on the ferry! Hanging out at La Pointe , I saw the ferry transport a full size tour bus. Later it brought a beer truck over. I wouldn't think there would be so much traffic going back and forth to an island of 280 but every half hour it brought more cars over as well as returning some back to Bayfield.

The south shore drive from Duluth to Bayfield was a nice scenic drive, a fast curve here and there and not much traffic this time of the year. The roads were mostly smooth and no road construction this year.

Awesome. I took that trip in my Mustang many years ago. Beautiful place. Pike abound in the lagoon and the dockside bar is lively. I stayed in a friend's cabin on the northern part.
