Would hate to invest in wheels & tires to have clearance problems. Would love to put down some seriously wide 225 rubber but realize that proper offset is critical. Will et42 hack it on a 7" rim width? The rear fender lip is the area of most concern. Thanks in advance for NE info.

I have some 225/45/15 Hankook Z212's on +43, 15x7.5 SSR's and they fit fine. Hankook recommends a rim width of 7-8.5" for this tire.

For auto-x, I use Hoosier A06 225/45-15s on 15x7 Kosei K1 TS wheels. Their offset is 38. I get a very slight rub on the inside, so I use 3 mm spacers from TCE.
Net 35 et.
The Hoosiers are VERY wide for their stated size.
No rubbing.

Thanks for the info. Trying to figure out why, with 40mm offset on my 7x17 wheels using 215/45x17, I get rubbing on the rear outside when I go over a hard bump or dip, yet you can get away w/35mm and 225/45x15 on a 7x15. I trust what you say is true but the math just doesn't add up for me.

Because there is a big difference in the diameter of these two tires. Just as he needs a 3mm spacer for his +38 15x7 wheels, because his Hoo's are so wide and my 225 Kooks fit fine on a +43 15x7.5 and no spacer. Check the diameters and mounted section widths for these tires.
Also note that since you have two adj. rear control arms, if you get the other two you can reduce your rear track, to reduce rub if you really wanted to.

I'm running a 16x7 combo with 225/45 Hankook RS-2s and stock height, and only get rubbing on rally-like dips and bumps. The wheels are ET+38 MB Motorsports from Discount Tire, AKA A-Tech wheels with a different center cap. I realize this isn't a 15", but you shouldn't be too far off from these numbers.
I enjoyed seeing you run up at VIR, and I thought at the time you said you were going to do something to the brakes. Are you going to do a BBK with those 15's, or just upgrade the stock brakes? I'm curious as to what 15" wheels work with the Wilwood 11.75's.
I am running 225/15/R15 BFGoodrich G-Force sports with Team Dynamics Pro Race 1's with et30.
I had to trim the inner portion of the fender liner, and the inner lip of the plastic fender trim to clear the tires... Not a big deal, I did it at home in less than an hour, but probably more than most people want to deal with.
They ride great, and look awesome, and haven't had any driveability issues, but its probably too much offset.
If I were to do it again, I'd get these same rims with et40 (seems to be the popular street offset).
Whatever the offset of the 17" S-lites will work on a 15" w/225x???.
No. Stock S-Lites have an offset of +48. A 225 will probably rub the struts and anything else on the inside of the wheel. You need to go down to the +40 range to fit 225's.

I have 5mm Eibach spacer up front, the rear is OK as is, S-lites and 225x45x17 UHP tires. Suspension is stock and can tell you no rubbing. And lots better handling compare to before running the Pirelli's 205x45 RF.

No way You got 225s to work with 30ET? I had problems with 40ET...show me how you did that...
Edit...I see that you have 15s...that explains it...
