225 vs 245 for HPDE

anyone gone from 225 to 245 width for HPDE?

not sure what it would take to fit them on my R53 15x8 wheels but I'm thinking about it. I would rather buy wide flares and wider tires than invest in an LSD, I only get wheelspin on two turns at CMP

thinking about maxxis VR-1 245/40/15 alternate easier to fit choice are 235 r888's I suppose or rival S in 225 those are an easy fit but I'm not sure it's enough tire to avoid having to tear the trans apart for a diff

The 225 Rival S is going to be stickier than Maxxis VR1 though.

I'm giving up and going the LSD route.

LSD would maybe give me .5 seconds on a lap, I only get wheelspin a tiny bit on 2 corners

bigger tires though, that will give me more corner grip, better entry/exit speed maybe even fix wheel spin too I cant figure out why there are not 10 companies making giant flares for our cars like they make for the classic minis

Or Miata's. But the softer compound on Rivals would likely make it a toss up between tread width or compound.

Though the Maxxis would probably last longer for track days bro
