Tire brand and size recommendations
Ok so unexpectedly I'm in the market for set of tires for my 2014 Paceman S all4. Currently there are stock pirelli 17" run flats, but I don't think I'm going to go with run flats again as they are insanely expensive. I'm looking for a nice set of performance tire. I'm not opposed to going with 18" if there is a good reason for it. Bring on the recommendations. I'm buying this weekend.

Yesterday I purchased a set of Continental Extreme Contact DWS tires. So far I like them a lot. The ride difference is highly noticeable. Based on on all that I have read in this forum, I went with 225/50/17 which is an upgrade from 205/55/17. Hopefully I made the right decision on the size.

Found this really nice tire size calculator. Very helpful tool when trying to tweak your tire size. https://tiresize.com/calculator/

06 saw an update to the tire's sidewall. It's stiffer now than its predecessor. This offers more precise cornering response, at the expense of a slightly firmer ride. It's my feeling Continental was going after the number one complaint, mushy handling with DWS.

Unfortunately my tire sales guy never even mentioned that there was an "06" model in existence. However, it may not matter since my Mini is a Paceman which is a bit mushy to begin with, and since its a Miniature SUV which sits higher and should ride a little softer from the get go. Once, I upgrade the suspension then I think any mushiness will be brought to the surface. Hopefully its not enough to annoy me when that happens.

DWS (older version) was known for being more "comfortable" vs mushy although which may be in the eye of the owner.
Compared to other tires of the same class, improved responsiveness and better handling was the goal of the updated DWS 06 version.
You can research various tire models on a tire company's site, there are usually something new being released each year.
The tire you bought is fine for street use, enjoy them.

Where did you purchase these? This size not listed on Tire Rack…also getting conflicting information on whether these are compatible with my 14 Paceman. Found them on Discount Tire.com and ordered based on your post above.
