brake bias after fitting ap bbk?
Hi all,
I'm fitting the 330mm ap 4 pot kit (cp5200 caliper) on my 2007 r56 mcs. I'll be running pagid rs29 yellow pads.
I'm uprating the rear to the 280mm jcw disc and mintex 1144. I've been told my std mcs calipers fit over 280mm discs as long as I use the jcw pad carriers.
Has anyone addressed the brake bias change that this creates? It doesn't seem sensible to put such a big change on to the car and not address the bias.
Has anyone got experience? I appreciate the easy answer is its not necessary and that seems to be the one most people give but it's clearly a big change from standard.
Any opinions welcomed even from anyone who think it's unnecessary as I would like to understand that logic.
For info I've ordered oz Leggenda 17x7 offset 37mm and I believe these should fit the brakes. Welcome opinions on that too!!
Thanks
Steven RW

Hi,
Thanks for both links.
I will need to get some data re the cp5200 caliper and then try and use the torque calculator. I'm not giving up on my abilities too early but I reckon that even with all that new data, I will probably fit the kit I have and then add a bias adjuster (or two if that is what the mcs 2007 requires) and adjust myself till I find a happy balance.
I wonder if anyone has fitted bias adjusters to R56 mini cooper S on the standard master cylinder (ie not on a total race car with different master cylinder...).
Thanks
Steven

I PM'd a link to the simpler single mc calculator. Easier to use for the needs here unless he has a dual pedal set up. Thanks guys.

Hi - thanks for the guidance.
I have attached my progress so far and have a couple of quick questions.
All the data seems to be correct as I have found CAD diagrams of the AP cp5200 caliper for piston size. I have found the pagid rs29 CF (chose the CF at 300 degrees c) and mintex 1144 CF (just a general one was provided).
What I don't know at this point is what the standard piston diameters are for the standard front single piston 2007 r56 MCS caliper or the std rear single piston caliper for the same car. I also don't know the pad depths so I can't quite complete the calculations.
If you happen to have been through this calculation before for a 2007 MCS, maybe you know the original standard information so I can use that?
I appreciate the guidance and am not shy to carry out the calculation, just info gathering :-).
Thanks
Steven RW
