I don't understand how did you manage to get those 215.45.17 tires without rubbing?

I run 235(yes,235)40/17 on 7.5 Rota RB on Sumitomo rubber on my 2013 JCW that is lowered 2 inches all around. I use a 12mm spacer up front to clear the big brakes. No rubbing,great stance,fantastic handling. Everyone waves the thumbs up. Get out your tape measure and crawl around.

235/40/17 on 7.5 Rota RB on Sumitomo tires. Car is lowered 2 inches all around .no ru
bbing,great stance,fantastic handling.

Cool pics you show there BossyR56 with the tires! Im curious though, you say that with the 215.45.17 there is no rubbing at all, when the tire is turned and the car falls in a gap on the road, how can there be no rubbing, there is only about a finger of space between the tire and the arch!

I would think when I'm turning and hitting a pothole that I would be at a slow speed...so at that point I shouldn't rub at all. If you look at your car try turning the wheels and you will see that when u turn ur car it raises up a bit! My friend showed me this because I myself couldn't believe that he wasn't rubbing and from the side, half of his tires was covered!

Hmm i think your right about the rising, but i believe -if im not mistaking- its not more than 4-5mm. And vice versa when the wheels turn the other way, facing the engine, it looks like is lowering on one side. Still either way the difference is not much, i still believe (with my inadequate knowledge) that the lift that you mention is not enough to disallow rubbing, if i may say.

This is when an adjustable dampening would come into place. With the stock shocks your car will bounce more and with the coilovers I can make it stiff or soft. Obviously with less than an inch clearance or not even a finger in between tire and fender I want it stiffer so I won't rub.

With so little clearance means that it will be as stiff as hell. I wonder can it be drivable in average roads?

My mini is my daily and so was my 350z...

Also it all depends on ur wheel width, offset and if you are lowered, clearance etc.
