18" on a R52

I have a chance to pick up 18's for my 06 R52 S stock suspension. Tires are 205 35 18. Rims are DIP 18x7.5. They are coming off a 2010 MCS. Any problems I should be aware of?

What's the width, offset of the wheel and tire size of your current wheels?
What's the offset of the 18" wheels you snagged?

The wheels and tires I have now are my winter set. Stock S-Lites 7" wide with Pirelli 240 non rft. 205 45 17. Offset is +48mm. The new ones are DIP D66 Slack 18 x 7.5 with +40mm offset.

Going from a 17x7 @ 48mm offset, to a 18x7.5 @ 40mm offset will push the wheel position out 14mm and provide 2mm less clearance on the inside.
The 205/35-R18 tires are smaller overall diameter, therefore your speedometer will read 2.5% too fast (ex: speedo says 60mph, you're acutally going 58.5mph).

So in real math terms that means the tires will stick out about 1/2" and be about an 1/8" closer to the struts. I'm too old for this metric stuff. I have no plans on lowering the car. Do you see a problem doing this? I haven't bought them yet. They are on NAM marketplace under wheels and tires. He lives near me and is holding them til later on this month.

I hope you realize that you will be getting a rougher ride. Also with all of the winter potholes you get in Albany you will have them bent in short order.

Bilbo- No worries on my end. I have a nice set of s lites with pirelli snows for winter. These are for summer only. Albany potholes are more visible then.

Bluefox- Thanks for all the info. Will be picking up the rims and tires in a couple weeks.
