Dumping the runflats; Tire recommendations!

Driving an R57 MCS convertible with 17" rims and the standard runflats. Tired of the harsh ride.

Would appreciate tire recommendations for non-runflats using the same rims or should I purchase a set of 16" rims with runflats?

I ditched the run flats and went with 215/45/ZR17 Nitto Neo Gens. A much better ride, great handling, great in the rain and pretty good in the snow too.

There are a ton of threads on this topic. The nearly unanimous consensus is to lose the runflats ASAP. Practically any tire you replace them with will give you a huge improvement in handling.

BFGoodrich g-Force T/A KDW 2

I've bought 4 sets of them over the years (I'm hard on them and they're soft), and they have a really cool tread.

I had a set of the KDW's as well. Very good grip in dry, good in wet, and predictable. They do get pretty noisy as they wear, though.

I went with the General UHP 215/45/17 today and AAA towing for 100 miles. I figure I can find some place that has a tire in that distance. Also went with TSW lowering springs what a difference in the ride

+1 for Hankooks. I'm on my 3rd set. Two previous sets were Ventus V4 es. Current installation is Evo V12 K110. 205/45/R17s were $95/each at Pep Boys last month.

All Hankooks I have had gripped well and are really quiet, even after wearing down.

I had Yokohama Paradas way back when, and they sounded like Thornburgs after awhile.

I also went with these, but the stock size 205/45/17. Great reviews for the money. I paid $94 ea for a set of 4.
