225/35/18 td 1.2 18x8 et 45

I was wondering if these would be a good setup... i am not looking for stretch/poke, just a more aggressive look and possibly performance gains?

I have an r56 s and am considering team dynamic pro race 1.2 18x8 et 45, with 225/35/18 tires.

1. I am pretty sure they will not rub on stock suspension. Also, if i were to drop in the future, it would be ok i presume?

2. i figured thicker rubber = more grip but somewhere in this forum, someone stated it will cause more understeer? is that possible?

3. i want to go 18s but the only size tds offer is 18x8... 45mm offset is reasonable yes?

thanks in advance

Works well and no increase in understeer but limits you in tire choices. I would look at 17x8 45 et with a 235/40/17 for better selection of extreme performance tires and less unsprung weight and a better ride .

i have this exact setup 18x8 et45 225/35/18 and im all the way down on my h&r rss coilovers, its hella annoying sometimes because it does rub lock to lock, and the ride is really harsh from the 18's, im going with a 16x7.5 so i advise, if you are going to lower your car, do not run 18's...sacrificing quality of the ride, let alone the weight of the wheels/tires, for looks=fail, as i have failed on this setup.
you can see my gallery for how it will look if you lower on 18's.

+1
Tire size (35 series) make for a bumpy/jittery ride too.
"possibly performance gains?" Not Likely!
Better performance from what the Stig suggested, or even smaller 17x7.5 and 215/40-17 would be better than heavy 18x8s and 35 series (225/35-18) tires. Mine came stock with 18x7s, but when I need better performance I run 17x8 ET42 w/ 225/40-17 or 15x7.5 w/225/45-15.

my car isnt lowered yet... and if i ever did, i dont plan on going as low fronjoni....

only reason i wanted to get low profile tires was to stay within the stock diameter. 205/45/17 is not soo much different from 225/35/18 in terms of diameter. I guess lower profile means less absorbed which means bumpy ride.

Ill be running on stock sport suspension... maybe ill risk a higher profile...

If you got an R56, no risk the 225/40-18
