new TPMS sensor question

If you get a set of aftermarket wheels with TPMS, does anything with the sensors need to be programmed? The TPMS light doesn't go out even after resetting it a couple times. The installer said the dealer needed to program the new sensors. Wondering if there is any truth to this or maybe I just have a faulty sensor on one of the wheels.

Thanks

hmm, sounds like maybe a bad sensor? I had no problems with mine when i got new ones for my aftermarket wheels. Obvious question, did you check your air pressure to spec?

I got aftermarket wheels and they just took the sensors I had and moved them over, along with the tires. I had no issues whatsoever. But my TPMS goes through my factory NAV, so maybe that made a difference?

Tire pressure is good so I'm beginning to think I have a bad TPMS sensor. So those of you that have bought aftermarket wheels with TPMS, you just put the wheels on, reset the TPMS, and were good to go?
