New Set of Wheels, Reuse exsiting TPMS?

I am changing my oem 15" wheels on my Mini 2008 to the S-Lites (2003) with Hankook V12 Evo tires.

In regards to the TMPS what should I do?

1) Can I just use the ones from the old wheels

2) NOT use TMPS (would resseting the TMPS get rid of the yellow light in this case?)

3) Do I need to buy a set for these new wheels? [hope note :S)

My car is a lease, and I will need to eventually return the old wheels with the TMPS.

Can the tire shop take care of setting everything up with the TMPS or do I need to go to the dealership? I see Tirerack's recommender dealers, and they charge about $4 for TPMS Service, that is what that is?

Thanks.

sensors can be reused, you will need a rebuild kit.

Yeah you can have them put in the new wheels. I dunno about a kit, though mine were swapped at about 12K miles.
I guess that would just be some rubber grommets and washers to get a new seal to the new wheel - do that

Yes you can run no TPMS...i currently am, and NO you cant get rid of the light.

So, just have the place swap em over... shouldnt cost much.

then post pics lol

Ok, I called a tire shop and he says he can't do it because it needs calibration.

The other one told me no need for calibration.

Do I need a rebuild kit, and if so is that something they'll have or where could I get my hands on one? (any specific model I need?)

Thanks guys!

Mini dealer has them, also most tire shops. Here, Discount tire has them. I think they were $4 each. If I remember it included a rubber and crush washer and bolts. No calibration needed. You can try it without a kit, just watch for air leaks. You will need to do a reset on your Mini if they do not end up in the same position.

Ok great thanks! I guess that's the 4$ TPMS fee they charge. Thanks again!
