16" tire choices

I think I'm gonna go 16" BBS RGF rather than 17" RGR on my incoming MCS. Why? Cost. Weight (RGFs only 12.8 lbs each!), and looks. Pretty good reasons. But! The tire choices in stock size (195/55/16) are horrible. I need a good summer NON-RFT tire. There are much better choices in 205/50/16. Can I run that size without issue? Offset is 35mm, which sounds like a fair amount of poke. Thanks for any tips/insight.

I'm running Kuhmo ASX 215/50-16s, same height as the 195/55s, but about 3/4" wider.

205/50-16 work fine. My current favorite is the Michelin PE2.

If you want an extreme performance tire you could try the Dunlop Direzza in 205/50/16. They're not a high mileage tire but they are around 100 bucks at tire rack. I've got about 13,000 miles on my current set but over 20 auto-x events at this point and they are probably going to go at least another 3 or 4 events.
