Tire Pressure Light

Hi,
Just took of the 17" runflats and put on 16" standard winter tires on steel wheels. The runflat light came on and stays on. The tire pressure is fine. Is there a way to reset this? Is this normal?
Thanks in advance
John

PS: it's a 2003 Cooper S

You have tried the standard reset right? There should be details in your manual, I'm not sure about an 03, but the 04 reset button was in front of the hand brake, with the tire pressure symbol on it. The proceedure for resetting it in the manual never did seem to work quite right, I never was sure how long to hold the button down, then you have to drive for a while.

You should reset the tire monitor whenever you change the tires, or their pressure.
