Just curious. Thanks.

Hi Dan,

In 18's, will these clear a Brembo GT 320 mm kit on an R53, with the 5mm spacers it takes to clear the JCW version of the Brembos? The calipers are a bit different.

They'd be for the black car in my sig.

Hey Dan,
I would like to buy a set of 17x7.5 RB's from you. (I actually had bought a set from a local shop, only to have them f-it up.) But will probably have to do tires first while I wait to settle things with them. Would you recommend 205/45-R17 or 215/45-R17 for those wheels? Or is there another range with a different sidewall size that you would recommend?
Cheers.

I'd do the 215/45R17. That tire width will better match the 7.5" wide wheel.

Shameless plug for a great guy. Maybe I'm preaching to the choir here, but I'm gonna do it anyway. I had the pleasure of stopping by Mach V Motorsports today to check out some goodies. Dan's a great guy, very knowledgeable, and super helpful. I'd certainly recommend him and Mach V to anyone.

Thanks, Dan!

I can't tell you for sure how much of a spacer they'll need with your Brembo GT kit, but they'll need something. Probably not more than 15mm. Certainly not less than 5mm.

Just FYI ...

ET is from the German word

"Einpresstiefe"

or, literally, "insertion depth".

Hi,

I'm looking for 17'' Rota GRID in bronze color. Use to have 15'' Volk TE37 on my Civic but now I'm not paying that kind of money! No way.
Like the model so GRID would be realy sexy for my electric blue MCS!

Any nice picture (like of RB and others in this thread) available of this wheel, please?

THANK YOU!

Hi PowerPig,

I PMed you, I think. Those wheels ARE available in bronze, but I don't have any good pics of them on a MINI. (Yet!)

Find Rota Grid HERE.

May be a dumb question since I didn't see it on yer website anyway, but do you sell tires as well for a wheel+tire package? Looking to get KW coil-overs with some steel grey Rota MC's and tires. What's the recommended tire size: 215 35/18 about right? Shoot me a PM if you'd like.

We generally don't do tires by mail-order. My opinion is that it's better to get your tires locally, mostly because of service issues. What if your wheels don't feel balanced once they get there? Who pays for the rebalance? And what if the tires has some kind of problem. Because of the size and weight, plus the difficulty of undoing mounting and balancing, it's simpler to just get your tires locally. Or even order them for local delivery, but have them mounted and balanced locally.

If you are local to us we'd be happy to sell you a wheel/tire package, which we can mount, balance, and install on your car.

215/35R18 is pretty narrow for an 8" wheel. 225/35R18 would be better. And it fits fine.

Can anyone tell me if the polished lip on RBs are clear coated? They don't appear to be, and I hope they're not. I have a burr on the lip of a wheel I need to polish out, but it's an issue if they're clear coated.
