Are there really not any decent wheels?

When looking through the available wheels for the MINI on Tire Rack's site in the last six months or so, two things stand out.

1) The good wheels (lighter weight, race style) seem to be going away, and are being replaced with funky, blingy type wheels.

2) The remaining good wheels, and the very few new good wheels, are not being offered in some prime MINI sizes. A lot of the 17" sizes are disappearing, and hardly any 7.5" or 8" wide wheels are offered unless you go to 18" diameter.

Are the lighter 17x7.5 and 17x8 wheels really all disappearing, or is Tire Rack just not carrying them?

The current selection is tired, and offering the same old wheels in orange is not the answer.

Actually, that's a good example, too. I'm not as big a fan of the RGRs as I am of the RCs and LMs, both of which are no longer available new.

I'd like some nice 6-spokes, though, and I'm not finding any that I like that are in sizes and colors that I like.... and that are readily available and not $600+ per wheel. I'd also be up for something else if it was really interesting, but nothing's really grabbed me yet.

I ran into this same issue. Would prefer to order from Tire Rack simply because of their reputation and participation here on NAM, but the selection is just so limited (for what I want at least). Looks like I'll be going with Edge Racing instead. Also a sponsor of NAM so no harm done.

Enourmous list here of online vendors who carry wheels that fit the MINI. Hopefully you can find something. I went through literally the entire thing before making my decision.

These r90's ok for $400 a set? I know they are heavier but are also pretty sturdy.

I couldn't find anything for $600 or your glowing orange, but when I was in there getting some mounting done they tried hard to but still couldn't get their prices as high as the dealer prices on tires or wheels.
