Thats because everything is played out on the VW forums. They could be real LM's and they would still cry and moan and be unhappy.

It probably has to do with the low quality and finish of replica wheels.

true, but
1. cant afford lm's, but like the look.
2. need feedback from someone who has reps, and if they say its bad for real, then yeah reps are not the way to go. im not really all that excited about them, but the price is good and if the quality is there, then it makes sense...

true about the vw forums, they do whine about a lot, i thought this forum was bad but they're really really nittpicky

I wasn't saying you shouldn't get them. I was just explaining why they get a bad rap over on the VW forums. Wheels mean a lot to VW owners, so they want the best from their wheels. They'd rather save for real BBS rather than settling for a lower quality version from a company that steals designs.

I can tell from quite a few feet away when a wheel is a rep based on the quality. Are they super bad? No. Are they worse than the real wheels? Most definitely. Are they gonna break right away? No. Are they weaker than the real wheels? Certainly.

understood...
then what are some good lightweight wheels, with a semi-fat lip, that i can snag for around 1500...

I agree Rally didn't mean to start to much drama I figured former VW owners would get the joke. It always boils down to you get what you paid for. If you pay for 600 dollar wheels well guess what you get 600 dollar wheels, Being a previous owner of some Schmidt TH's and buying them new. I know that you get what you pay for and unfortunately for me, mine got permanently borrowed. One of the down sides to being in baller status. But it always boils down to what you want and what you can afford and meeting somewhere in the middle.

Haha I was in full agreement with the "whiney" comment. I just figured I would clear up the wheel thing in case others didn't catch the joke
