TurboBack exhaust needs install

Hello,

I am located in Raleigh and looking for a place that someone can recommend to have my Alta turboback installed.

Any reliable places i can trust to work on my car. I have had shady work done on cars in the past so that is why i ask.

I am considering driving all the way out to Grass Roots Garage, but thought I would see if it can be done local/closer?

Thank you

Jason

Easy to install in your own driveway! It's only bolts

I'll have mine to install in a week also

Just wondering... did you install it yourself or did you have someone do it for you? I am also in the Raleigh area.

I had a place called Black Firest Industries do it for me. They normally work only on vw/ audi. But Paul (owner) was kind enough to do it for me. Did not realize until I got home there was the chassis brace in the back. I called Alta about it and of course they make it sound like no big deal. Looking at the instructions you have to take a dremel to it! Must have been a no go to the installer and I don't blame him. I was told from Alta that it will not harm the car without it ? I still want to install it though.

I installed the Borla cat back exhaust and had the same problem with it not clearing the brace and I got the same info. For now, the thing is in the boot of the car. I'll have it up on the lift this weekend to lube my rear sway bar bushings and while it's up there, I'm going to chop a piece out of the brace so it'll clear the resonator and put it back in place.

well, it has happen :( the inevitable "CHECK ENGINE" light.

Codes thrown:

bank 1 sensor 2
P2270 (going to try to remove spacer for this)
P0136 ugh! bad 02 sensor? i really hope not, better not be damaged by installer

So, bought a scanner, cleared codes and waiting to see if they come back on during my drive back to the mechanic to remove the spacers. Most likely get the P0420 code I am sure.

Talked to Alta, they are sending me the spacer kit they use for another shot if all goes to hell.

I knew this was going to happen, i feel dumb for buying this crap, never learn

Well, purchased a scanguage and cleared codes. Been driving the last couple days with no check engine light. Fingers crossed

After my little vent. I am amazed in the performance gains with the exhaust, turbo inlet hose and intake combo. The car feels great and sounds good. Although surprised with how loud it is, not annoying though. I cannot wait for the time when I am able to get the Forge fmic and Jan tune.
