Fall Dragon run anyone.....

That's right, you heard me. A Fall Dragon run. I know it's been thrown around, but for pete's sake, somebody's got to get the ball rolling. So, who's in, and when would be good for everyone?

I "might" be able to make it, depends upon timing, no time is "good" for me, so I'll just lurk and chime in if I can join. Missing the "real" Dragon bummed me out and this would be a nice consolation prize if I can swing it...

MKO always does a fall run so we'll be there maybe not the same weekend, but we will be there. We already have an entire cabin complex, 4 adjoining rooms booked at Tapoco Lodge.

Why not kill 2 birds with one stone and go to Mini Meet East, in Alcoa, TN, the last weekend of this month? That way, you can see some really neat old and new Minis/MINIs, AND go to the Dragon, too. I'd imagine a lot of the Mini/MINI crowd will be headed there throughout that weekend...I KNOW I will.

Can't make it to the MME, chose the Dragon instead. Plus, we are talking about a Fall thing. I only live a couple of hours away, and can really go anytime, but it would be fun to get a bunch of people together to do it in the Fall...

Interesting. Alcoa is about 50 miles from the Dragon. That's why so many Mini/MINI owners will go and drive it while MME is going on. That said, yeah, there are groups going to the Dragon all Fall. Some like it during the week while others enjoy the Fall colors, and trying to stay away from the cruisers. Still other groups like going after peak color, just before the area closes down for the season...as there aren't as many rubberneckers out and about.

Lets keep this rolling, I'd be interested, late summer or early fall weekend. Had rain day at MOTD 2007.. Need to hit it again. We stayed by casino an hour away but was able to go to Gatlinburg on Sat. while it rained..

We discussed a possible trip to the Dragon this morning at our MINI Breakfast in Columbus and agreed that some of us Buckeyes are up for a trip in the October timeframe as well. Get some dates out there and let's see what can happen. Great thread!!

Either of those weekends should work for me.

I recommend you check with Fontana Village and with Deal's Gap to see if they're aware of any groups up there either week. On the Fontana calendar it says "Dragon's Ball" 9/22-9/30 - looks like that's a motorcycle rally - I don't know how big - a call to Fontana should clarify...

"Ordinary" weekends are hairy enough up there - best to plan around any special events that would draw more bikes or cars than "average" for that time of year...

I'm definitely interested and know some of the AtlantaMINIs would be too. Unfortunately, it totally depends on timing for me and my hubby... we have a lot going on in the fall with family functions.

Just bought my first Mini today, and have a Dragon run planned at the end of August. But heck, could easily do another one in the fall :-)
