BC coilovers are on my upgrade list, how are these holding up? Sounds like the swift springs should be included in my upgrades. Also are the pillow ball tops noisey like the Cross? Thanks

Reason: added another question
Hi all! I am looking to improve my BC coilovers with another set of springs and I would like your help. Are the swifts springs the only way to go? What specs should I look for?
That won't help since the wheel moves with the strut so he will still have the same clearance issue. My BC's have gotten really rough ever since I installed them. They are brake braking. I either will try to raise them a bit and see how that feels, or buy swift springs with 6 or 7k springs in front and 5k in the rear.
Do the extenders go over the "short knobs" or do they replace them?
If they replace them, what kind of connection do they make to the damper?
Hex (allen)?
I currently have Koni Yellows, and have drilled ~5/8" hole in the frame rail to access the adjustment, through the side panel. I'd like to be able do the same thing with the BC's.
If it's not a hex, could someone describe it or maybe take a close-up pic of one without the knob or extender installed.
Extenders extend the knob.. so you have the knob -> adaptor/cup (secured by a little hex screw) that fits over the knob -> cable in housing -> new adjusting knob

Just PMed you but wanted to post .
They extenders do go over the knurled adjuster and have a set screw.
The 5/8 hole will not be big enough as the extenders do move in an arc as the suspensiong moves up and down.
My springs are also marked 7kg front and 5kg rear, not that I am unhappy with them, but I am a bit confused about whether I have mis-marked 8/6 or properly marked 7/5.

I need the help of the experts here. Since the new swift springs are on their way I have to decided to finished the suspenssion job I started a few months ago. So one of the things I have to do is what COR BLMY has insisted to me at his post below in order to correct one of my current problems. But looking at the picture I think I need some help on how to implement it. My setup now is like in this picture
So the top hut of the coilover touches the rubber of the top mount. How could I put a spacer between there? Will it work and what kind of material should it be? What if I put a a spacer at the shaft of the rod before placing the top hut? At the shaft of the rod there is a stop where the top hut is placed and then the top mount comes on top of that. If I extend the stop where the top hut is placed wouldn't this decrease the distance from the top mount to the extender and give me the clearance I need in order to correct my problem? Will this work or it will cause some problem like bottoms out the car easier?

You emailed me and included a photo .. of the units you were purchasing ...I said they were the OLD style and had NO rear top mountts...?
The Spacer goes on the SHAFT of the rod before placing the top mount.
The green shows the top mount ...the spacer (between green indicated top plate and top hat) allows for the clearance needed.
Does anyone know if the BC's are the same for a R53 and R56? New to the Mini so please excuse me if this seems like a dumb question. A lot of suspension stuff seems to be interchangeable between the 2.

I am getting a really weird sound coming from my front/driverside coilover. It sounds like a "springy" sound like dah-OINGG! I've heard clunking and banging sounds from cars before, but I've never heard a loose spring "DOY-ING" sound. Anyone got this problem? It especially happens after parking for a bit and then moving the car, or sometimes, when I go up a driveway...
Other than that, car still feels stable and tight on turns. Makes no noise at all on the freeway or normal street driving.
I have the same sound coming from the right side. It started happening after I hit a real harsh bridge joint that blew out my engine mount. I called BC and they said it was likely the pillow ball/bearing assembly. The shipped me a new one for $60 but I don't have it in yet. No other abnormalities other than the sound just as you describe, when I turn the wheel pulling out of the driveway.
