Removed Camber Plates now can't lower the car

Hello guys,

I came across something unusual today.

I sold my camber plates to a friend and had to remove them from my car.

When they were on the car, my front height was set to 23,62" from the floor to the arches, and the back was 24,40".

Now that I removed the camber plates, I can't lower front to the point that I need. Now they are set to 24,60" (from the floor to the arches) and the mechanic said that I can't go any lower, because the front tires will rub; and I will need spacers.

And the deal is that I don't have longer lug bolts, that's why I don't want to add spacers to the car.

Can something like this be possible? I mean do camber plates give you some extra lowering clearance?

Removing the camber plates would set the camber back to stock.

If your car is that low and your wheels are a more aggressive fitment than stock, then yes... things may not fit without the plates installed.

My wheels are stock R112 Challenge wheels. ET48 , width 7".

Raise the car, or buy new camber plates.

Spacers aren't going to fix rubbing, they'll only make it worse.

Some camber plates are "thinner" than stock upper mounts. So if your camber plates had less height than stock mounts they would lower your car. Some camber plates are also thicker that stock so they actually raise the front. If you don't want camber plates but want to go lower look into custom upper mounts like the bagged MINI guys run. Think of the upper mount like you would a strut spacer on pick ups and it makes more sense of what is actually going on there.

This morning I put the camber plates back, and guess what? My sweet baby is back where it needs to be
