Phoenix I also installed the 2" lift kit on my Justa Countryman and have added 15mm spacers but haven't changed the wheels yet. I've noticed a shaking through the pedals and maybe the steering wheel starting at 20mph and ending at 30mph under acceleration, in any gear. Have you had any issues like that?

I noticed the same thing when I added the lift. After I got my alignment and added NM torque inserts I really haven't noticed it.
I know it's noticeable during hard acceleration.

I will note on my tire set up I notice a little rubbing in the rear (when I go airborne). And a little rubbing in the front when I'm making a sharp turn on a incline or decline. Nothing serious. Will post pictures later for those interested.

 

Thanks, I also had a new NM rear sway bar installed with the lift and spacers and then an alignment after all of that and i still notice it. Maybe I will try the torque insert.

 

Does anyone have the installation instructions for the Crap Industries 2" Countryman Lift?" I want to see how involved this is before I go all in...

a couple of questions from a new CM owner (but a long time mini owner):


just purchased a 2014 CM JCW all4 with the factory optional 19" wheels. i'm in the process of ordering the crap industries lift kit. the CM jcw comes with the jcw sport suspension, which ironically lowers the car .4". Has anyone put the lift kit on this jcw suspension and theres no issues? most of what of what I've read here are on the CM S.


also, has anyone put larger tires on the 19" wheels with the lift kit, and if so, how large were you able to go without rubbing? thanks for any insights!

 

Maggie is my 2011 R60 ALL4 that has been lifted for about 40,000 miles. She has had no issues at all besides the loss in cornering. I'm running 225/60/17 Yokohama Geolanders on 17x8 American Racing Wheels!

 

I have a 2014 JCW CM, which comes with the jcw suspension as standard equipment (and lowers the car .4"). I purchased the CRAP lift kit, but my installer said there wasn't adequate space to get the compression tool on the springs to compress them?? is this issue unique to the jcw suspension? has anyone installed the CRAP lift kit on a JCW CM?

 

I have a 2014 JCW CM that I have mounted the spacers on and did not have to compress the springs to get it on. I raised the mini completely off the ground, removed the wheel, hammered off the shock after loosening it, and then removed the entire shock/spring assembly and returned it in after installing the spacer.

I have however come up with an issue I am wondering if anybody else has seen. I have recently come across a pressure plate groan when I start off from a dead start, or when i'm moving into a new gear and the accelerator is at a speed that is much higher than the transmission was last rotating. I took it to the mini dealer that I bought it from and they confirmed that it was definitely a transmission problem, but that my warranty would not cover this as I had installed larger tires and the lift kid (235/70r16 Treadwright Puma on Steelies). Has anybody had this issue before when lifting their mini? Have you had any issues with warranty coverage or repair after having done your lift? I know my modification comes with some risk, but I am at 20k miles, 5k put on since lift, and did not see tranny issues prior. I don't see that much damage being caused in such a short time.

All thoughts are welcome...

 

BTW, here is what my Mini looks like now that it does have the lift.

 

My wife wanted more clearance in her JCW CM, but after the suspension shop said they couldn't install the Crap lift kit due to lack of space for the spring compressors, I took the project on myself. Three days later with the car on jacks in the driveway, the lift kit is in and drives better than expected on the corners. Also replaced the Pirelli Runflats with slightly oversized Michelin Pilot A/S 3 (225/45 19R) which helped with the handling.


And now the job is complete with this modified badge.
