KW V1 on R56 Help

I installed the KW V1 on my 09 factory JCW this AM. I'm having space issues on the front near the bottom of the spring as it is rubbing against the tire. I have the stock 17 in Challenge Wheels on the car. I know Minitauro is running similar setup with no spacers and same wheels. Wondering if anyone can look at these pics and tell me if this looks right or if the bottom of the strut is sticking out too much at the bottom near the pinch bolt. You can see a huge difference in the measurements between stock and the KW's. Any help would be greatly appreciated before I go any further. It's already undriveable unless I buy spacers or go back to the stock setup. Either way it's a lot of work and more down time.

It's all right.... here in Germany many people have problems with OEM rims and coilovers. It is because most OEM rims have ET 48 or 52, so there is not really much space.

Get some spacers and everything will be fine !

Hi guys, I just got kw v1 for my R56 and I'm running R90 rims. The mechanics was able to install the coils but he said it's at the tallest setting right now (can't go lower otherwise, it'd rub the tires).

Car runs ok but I'm getting some squeaky noise from the front i think. The mechanics said I'll need spacer and then lower the front a bit more. Does anyone know what's the optimal size for the spacers? The mechanics said he's not sure about 5mm and H&R only make 5mm and 15mm so the next step to go is 15? Can I just go with 5mm and do i need longer bolts? Thanks for the help

I have the challenge wheels and was able to use 5mm spacers and I needed longer lug bolts. I don't have any rubbing on the coil-overs with this setup.

Hi I have a question about this coilovers. My mechanic replaced the front springs of my R56 2008 MCS due to a squeeky sound caused by springs send were for non sport mini cooper. He cange the springs at no cost, stated no need for alignment because left untouched the coilover system, had the previous setup and high. The car went higher in the front. Is he right about not changing initial setup after changing springs.
