Finally got around to installing my NM Engineering Rear Sway bar End Links.
These things are great! They're a lot lighter then they look since they're made of aluminum, and have the trim-down in the middle.
The engineer in me likes the 7075 aluminum vs the typical 6160... Stronger and less likely to fatigue over the long haul, since the fatigue limit is almost double.
The install was pretty painless. Only thing is you will need 2 jack stands, something I didn't have myself. Got started and then remembered both wheels would need to be in the same position in order to have no twist on the swaybar... Only 4 bolts, pretty painless. I like the new install too, it gets rid of the obnoxious allen in the bolt. You can now use a ratchet.
oh and the end-links come pre-set for the nm engineering spring drop. no need to adjust the length as long as you've got springs.
Overall, ride doesn't seem too much different. I seem to feel like the swaybar influence takes place earlier in a hard turn though. Maybe it had to do with the old skinny end links deforming before they fully transfered power from the rear swaybar. Maybe it's all in my head.
Looking to get corner balanced soon to get rid of pre-load though. Camera's not working, i'll have pics when i get back from vacation.
oh and they're shorter then the stock ones, putting the forces from the end link back to being perpendicular to the sway bar. That's the way it is with the stock links at stock height, go lower, go shorter on the end links!
