Coming from an '06 MCS with Sport Suspension to an '09 Clubman S without. Both had/have 17"s and RunFlats (Pirelli vs Continental)
I'm getting body roll, wheel hop on curves with bumps, etc.
Will a rear sway bar help me get some of that Sport Suspension feel back?
Do I need a larger front too?
Did I mention I love the smooth ride in this new one though? Help me

The factory JCW rear bar (18.5mm) will help, or if you want some adjustability, try one of the aftermarket vendors 19mm rear bar.
Either of these will be a definite improvement.
ALTA lists a front sway bar on their website, but I don't know anyone who has installed it. If I installed the 26" front bar and a 19" rear (or a 22" since the front has a 26"), would I notice improvement over just a rear?

I was told the Hotchkis comes with grease zirts. I don't like noise. In fact if I could buy rubber bushing for it I would do that. I know they don't last as long as poly, but again "I don't like noise"
I think I'll choose the 22mm for a few reasons. The Clubman is longer than the R56 this bar is made for. So the extra thickness would help compensate for that. In other words running a 22mm on a R55 would be like running a 19mm on a R56.
Not to mention it's almost the same price as the Alta 22mm

According to them, their rear bar is the same for Gen 1 and Gen II cars, so I'm going to take the H-Sport 22 mm bar off my '03 and reinstall the stock one on it and put that on my Clubby.
I'll let you know how it works out, I'll try and do it this weekend as we're headed to South Dakota next Wed.

Cool what setting are you going to use? I was thinking about normal to start. You?
ps: I tried to order the bar from Summit...says 5-6 weeks for delivery? Huh? same with Jegs.com.

check out the NM engineering 22mm bar. picked mine up today. very quality workmanship. The conneciton points are spectacular. They're CNC'd instead of welded. The bushing brackets are pretty beefy too, even though that probably doesn't matter, just a nice touch.
but i'm in the same boat, waaay too much lean in the corners, I'm hoping this helps. I'm going to upgrade the front too, probably just to the stock sport bar though, although, the h-sport front bar will probably play nicely with the 22 rear. Springs + rear sway for now, front bar may be coming soon, depending on how the car reacts on the track.
I use the softest setting (the holes on the end of the bar) when I'm just driving on the street, when I go to the track I've so far only used the middle setting, and it really seemed to balance the car out. The biggest problem I was having with both cars on the track that led me to get the 22 mm bar is the way it would pick up the inside front tire on slow speed corners and smoke it till I got it straightened out enough to hook up. On the street I really don't have that problem, so the softest setting for comfort is what I use.
