Yes another tire pressure thread.
Okay, so I am at a bit of a dilemma. I have been autocrossing for about three years now. I have recently dropped to a 15" wheel and a 205/50 tire (Rival S) and I am questioning pressure
I have read the rest of the threads where guys are running 38+ front and 35+ rear. On my last set of tires (RS3's) I would be around 35F 40R cold and let them rise and bleed the front only @ 38.
The last event (and second on this tire) I had this weekend, I was at 30/36 f/r hot. I took a probe to the tire and the temps are within 5-6* inner shoulder to outer shoulder. Of course the outer shoulder is hotter. I was seeing ~130* on the outer shoulder consistently.
I don't see a lot of rollover on the tire, but I am seeing some strange wear on the center rib of the tire. It's making me second guess everything.
Our chapter runs almost exclusively on a sealed asphalt lot with 65-75 second courses. Any expertise you could lend?

tagging along, what club are you AX'ing with? I've only seen one other R53 at the events up here around raleigh
I'm on 16" 205 RE71R's and I'm new so still pushing the tires pretty hard I start at 35 and let them go up to 38 or more I've not been checking on the last few runs as I get smoother and dont slide as much
next event I'll start at 36 and see how it goes

I run with CCR, I assume you are running NCR or THSCC? The lot in question is at Zmax dragway. Its probably a little treck for you but it's a really nice site. There are usually only a few MINI's running including a F56 with me in STX.
I have one of my friends (drives a CRX) ragging on me to drop the pressures saying that I am running too high for such a light car. I am just going to play with them some more next event (08/06) and see where it goes.

I run with THSCC do you mark your tires with chalk and check roll? I go as low as I can without going past the "thou shall not pass" triangle markers, not sure if this is a faster time doing that or not
I have a Dstock and a STX mini now to experiment with, I just put camber plates and coilovers on the stx car, wow so nice having camber!

I have marked them and it was good until I overdrove a few corners and erased those triangles on the front. The rears are good, its just the fronts that are weird.
I have a stock camber and suspension other than the HSport Comp RSB. I get thrown to STX from the JCW pack. I know camber will cure a bunch of my ills, its just how to get there as I still daily this car for now.
Gates are way early. I normally show @ 7 and am one of the first 30 or so. Drivers meeting is @9:45 and first car is 10, so there is some wiggle room there. After 8:30, it might get tight with reg/tech/walking. We normally see 150-180 drivers for a given event, so the time helps. We get four runs.
Its a great site and if you decide to come down you won't be disappointed.
Here is a vid from the last event, it was a two day. Don't mind the driving, I was eating cones all weekend.

That is a pretty fast course too. Where was that event?
I have never grabbed third in an autocross event. Dropping to the 15" wheel, I just now found the top of second.
Do you have a microphone on your camera? I can't seem to get rid of all the wind noise.

that was at NCcar, some runs I hit 3rd twice! I run a mic adapter off the gopro, routed back to the rear bumper, I can run left/right separate so I'm thinking about running one microphone up to the engine bay for that sweet supercharger scream
I'm doing a NASA HPDE at NCCar in september with the stx prepped car
