noise when taking corners

Hello,
I've had my 07 MCS for about 2 months, from Feb 26th to be exact. It has about 1900 miles on it. There is an offramp that I take to my friends house that curves almost in a 90 degree bend that causes something in front of the car to make this crunching/banging noise when I take the corner at a fast rate. I've heard it 3 or 4 times when in 3rd and 4th gear and cornering at about 45 mph. As the car passes the apex, I hear a funky noise that sounds like something metal banging into another object. Another time it sounds like a crunching noise. I'm hoping it's the abs and dsc slamming on the brakes and making this sound. But I was wondering if anyone has experienced this. Amazing thing is this is the only place that the car is making this noise. But then I don't take all corners at that rate since most offramps in southern california (orange county to be exact) don't have that pronounced a bend. I've done onramps at 40-50 and haven't heard the noise. Any help/insight would be appreciated. Thanks!

You might be able to carefully test your theory by turning off DSC before taking the corner. I have to stress the word carefully, the last thing you want to do is lose control and/or crash.

hi, I have an r56 cooperS here in italy, and I have your same problem...it is the DSC, but it isn't a normal thing because I''ve tried ather r56 and they don't make it... try this way: go straight and try to rotate the steering wheel fast right and left like if you ywant to evitate something and listen the sound
let me know!

same thing happened to me when i went to visit some friends in wrightwood. At first i thought it might be the front air diverter scraping int he corners since it seem to be happening only in turns that had a bit of a bank to them. But if it was the DSC, then that might explain the weird braking sensation. Haven't had the opportunity to go back, but i'll try with the DSC off and see if the noises come back.

hello, here is an update, i've tried taking the aforementioned corner with dsc turned off and the noise wasn't there the 3 times i've tried. i think the offramped is a little uneven so the front wheels actuate vertically over the undulations while turning, therefore causing the dsc to step in. wacky thing is this is the only place i've noticed it. wonder if this noise is a problem? hopefully we'll get more insight from other 07 owners. thanks for everyone's help

If you continue to hear the sound look at your tach and see if the DSC light is lit. When my DSC kicks in I hear a noise, nothing alarming but that could be because I knew the cause. but a crunching/banging noise does not sound good.
