Door pulls???

All of the paint has rubbed off the driver's door pull in my 2003 Mini Cooper. Does anyone know where I can purchase new door pulls?

When I do a search, all that comes up is the leather covers. I don't want to cover them, I want to replace them.

Any help will be gratefully appreciated.

You could always repaint your pulls. Better yet, cover them up with some snazzy leather: http://bit.ly/dBmGfX

Door pulls

I don't really want to cover with leather. I am a rare breed and don't like the feel of leather.

If I painted, do you think the Krylon paint for plastic would work? Or do you have a better suggestion.

It is very hard to remove the door pulls. They are plastic riveted onto the door cards. It is possible to cut the rivets to remove the pulls for painting, but then you'd have to glue them back on. I had seen someone detail this in a thread somewhere.

For paint, I'd imagine that Krylon would suffice, but you may need to do some light sanding of the part to allow better adhesion.

Thanks, I'll keep that in mind before I make my final decision. I had thought that I could spray the Krylon into a container and brush it on as opposed to trying to remove the parts completely and spray them.

My biggest concern is that the paint will crack or chip off.

The Krylon is cited as being a great paint for plastic. you would have to make sure the old pulls were clean of any dirt and oils before painting. You would have to mask off the door completely and the outside of the car also and have a sheet blocking the interior so no overspray would go on any surfaces that you do not want painted. you would not want to brush on as it would leave brush marks.. The best would be to paint it with light coats from the spray can so you do not get any runs. Rustys' '05 rag top.

Thank you for the advice. I may just have to try that - once the weather here warms up. It may not be till Spring.
