??? Version ECU Programming

Can the dealer tell exactly which version software you're running?

My dealer says they cannot--he said they can only "estimate" due to "frequent version updates" (my MCS has only had ONE update, prior to going in for service, where I was promised that v39 would not be loaded...but I suspect it was...when I was in for service again a few days later, I asked them to document for me what version software I was running, and the reply I got was:

basic control module 7527610 prog control module 7539189 prog date 12/10/03

he estimated I'm running v38 or v38.1 due to the programming date, "but there's no way we can tell for sure, we just have to guess by what was being loaded at that date..." I thought v36 was being loaded in Dec 03? Anybody remember for sure? Thanks

Hi Jenni,

Maybe try resetting the ECU by removing the battery cable?

Hi Wen

Will resetting the ECU by disconnecting the battery cable show my version of software? I've never done that before....

And will I need to reload MTH after doing the reset? Thanks, Jenni
