thrown code and car crapping out

like it says the usuall lights get throw check engine eml and the code i got is "p1689 electronic throttle control moniter level2\3 torque calculation error"
i have gotten this code alot and i have no warrenty so i wonder if any of you know what the heck this means and what might need to be replaced.

Your "drive by wire" sensor is malfunctioning. You are probably still better off taking to the dealer and letting them check it and fix it. Besides, Im not 100% sure that I am right, but I think that is what it is.

when does it happen (what are you doing, throttle, speed)?

mine did that (I dunno if it was the same code) but they ended up replacing the supercharger by-pass valve.

and of course, check all them hoses, intercooler boot, blah blah.

i got that code..


was top speeding the car out on a long stretch of interstate..

126mph 6700 rpm 4h gear..

wot for a while.. computer did not like it..

i had an eml episode. went into limp home.. not fun

anyone have any known fixes for this it is neither the tb or the gas pedal which are the two throttle pos. sensors. I have replaced both multiple times. any other ideas is anyone friendly with a mini tech who they or I could ask? I have the manual but it doesnt have a trouble shooting section However mini would have that. thx
