DSC/ yellow brake light

At random, the yellow brake light comes on along with the DSC light. This happens regardless of speed, time, temp, sport mode on or off, straight line cruising on the highway or running errands around town. Anyone else run into this? I have an '07 Cooper S, US model.

Maybe a loose or damaged ABS sensor or it could be something a bit more. I'd check and see if you can pull any fault codes that may give you a better idea. Check out this NAM thread here and here for some info.

Thanks for all the info, looks like I'll be getting it up on jacks and troubleshooting those ABS sensors first. Just looked up the steering wheel switch (possible cause too) Over $400 online...and it'll have to be programmed at the dealer too? OY! Hope it;s just a quirky sensor in a wheel well!

You're welcome. Definitely troubleshoot and see what you find before you start to replace the expensive parts. Hope it's something simple and maybe someone else will come in with another alternative. Do update us and let us know what you find. Good luck!

So wanting to go to the root of the issue and find out what all trouble codes were lurking in the ECM, I bought a reader and found out it wasn't the ABS sensors giving the issue, it was the high $ steering wheel switch module. Code description says it has an internal fault. Ugh.

If you do have DCS and not a rain sensor the part is HERE. If you are unsure shoot me a PM with your vin and I can get you the correct part to fix the issue.

Hello, I'm encountering the same issue since few weeks ago at random times and the lights disappear after 5-15 seconds. I have 2010 justa auto.
Robs07mini, what was the code on your mini?

Thanks.
