Thanks for all the input guys!!!
So I test drove it today and I loved it. However, two concerns.
There was a distinct WHINE while excelerating. Not sure what would cause that??
Otherwise it needs a paint job, new wheels(the rims are covered in curb rash)
Otherwise it was gorgeous and handled well.
Any input on the whining???

If you don't/didn't get it... Just remember that there are many Coopers on the road. lol You'll get the one you're meant to have.

LOL...I understand that you're partial to manual transmission and I do appreciate that.
However, in the first post the OP indicates that she can get it for $4,000...it would be her first MINI...and probably not her last. It's a start!

Id rather avoid a manual, tbh. I have a connective tissue disorder so my knees and hips have issues. I can drive them and its no big deal, but when im in any sort of stop and go traffic it causes quite a bit of pain for me later. My work commute really doesnt have any traffic but never know.

Just because the paint may look dull and have some scratches, don't assume it needs a paint job. Metallic clear-coat will usually respond well to polishing. Check out Dr. ColorChip for touch-up. Even curb-rashed wheels can be repaired but they may be so far gone, you can usually get some undamaged used replacements for less than the repair bill.
