How can i clean the throttle?
Not only with what but also how will i manage it? Do i need to unmount it? How will the valve open etc.

 

You have already asked this same question on multiple forums and have received very helpful replies. Unless you have the $15,000 tool to reset the adaptation for the actuator once you move it, consider having it done by someone who has the proper skills and expensive tools. Also you won't manage it without the Bentley manual which you insist you don't need and refuse to buy. It has safety procedures you must follow, one of which is disconnecting the battery.

 

Well if you have read the answers that have been given, there are some claiming to have manually opened/closed the valve using their hands without any issues. Regarding the Bentley manual, if im not mistaking, it only dedicates 2 pages regarding the throttle body!

 

What problem are you having, and why do you think cleaning the throttle body will fix it?

 

Well im having the following throttle errors P1638, P1637, P2102 an d im wondering could they be a result to a dirty throttle valve that needs cleaning or could they be just electrical issues of a faulty throttle body? Please keep in mind that the symptom is that the car will not respond when by the press of the pedal. If i stop, shut down the engine, wait for 10sec and start it again the problem goes away, all is back to normal!

I believe you have a bad or stuck throttle actuator which have been known to act up in cold weather, Mini even redesigned the intake manifold for cold weather regions. The Intake Manifold - Cold Climate Version. This new version has the oil from the passenger PCV port by-pass the throttle body entirely preventing it from getting covered in oil.

Now if you go this route we are back to how do you remove the air box and intake manifold to get to the throttle body to remove it. The Bentley Manual not only dedicates 2 pages on the throttle body but also dedicates many pages regarding the removal of the air box, intake manifold and throttle body with all the torque specs. You did in your first post want to know how you would manage it, correct? This is how you could manage it, the BM goes into details about your Mini that you just don't find anywhere else.

Now if you're not sure about purchasing a new throttle body and throwing parts at your Mini it's time to seek some professional help fixing your issues.

 

IMO get help if you are not 100% sure...
You have spent so much time asking questions...so.e very basic, it might be beyond your ability...
You might be able to do it...but the shop manual would be a huge help...
Buying random parts HOPEING it fixes something is a waste of $$$, and a waste of time.
Add to that the extra downtime...and stress, and the help of a pro can be downright cheap!!

We are all trying to help you, not attack you in anyway. But sometimes, a person just needs to be woken up to the reality that maybe the fix is beyond the scope of a forum and arm chair mechanics...

what was the issue? mine is throwing same codes...

 

Well the throttle bodies valve was stuck and would not move. Actually 1 out of 10 times it would move manually when pressed! Changed it and all works fine!
