Boost problems

Im at loss does anyone have any ideas to solve this problem.

Today when I was trying to merge onto the highway, I floor'd my pedals, and at about 16-17psi I got this thumping- like its gonna stall or maybe a misfire.
This was also followed with a loud pop and a lot of burning oil out of my exhaust. My boost gauge and such also went out of wack. After a code clear everything went back to normal- no boost leaks- but I manage to pull a p0130 misfire. Ive been trying to replicate this and the cel hasnt popped up again. The thumping on the other hand has.

My mini is modified but I dont think its ever done this before. I did recently change the plugs about 3 weeks ago to platinum-one step colders. But I can seem to remember if this was happening before the plug change.

Sounds like you have to contact Evolve, did you get a flashloader with your tune? You may need to take a log and send it to them for evaluation.

When it did the thumping, was it similar to several little clicks then a large puff of black smoke out the exhaust? If so, I can duplicate this concern on my car. I have to have it in a higher gear (5th or 6th) and driving 40-50mph; slight incline and then WOT and then click click click; momentary loss of power as the same time; then a large puff of smoke out the exhaust; Normal after that.

I have trained my self to down shift more often and leave it in lower gears until cruising. Or just don't go WOT at the wrong time. I have to get to a dyno and get my A/F's logged and adjusted and I should be good. It's just getting this done. It's hard to get on a dyno where I live, not much around here.

I would do what nkfry said and get logs sent out to Evolve so they can modify your A/F ratios.

Again, thats if you're experiencing the same thing I am.

It wasn't really clicking it was more like thumping stall type.

I was able to diagnosis it- apparently this is because of the platinum spark plugs I used. The gapping is to big on them. Sent from iPhone
