2004 R53 Power Steering Failure

Hi Folks,

I read through Power Steering thread and saw that there was some kind of recall for the power steering. Is this still available? What are the requirements/limitations? Just lost my power steering today!

Thanks!-AJ

Take it to the dealer. I have an 04 also and I received a recall letter. It extended the warranty for this issue to 13 years/150,000 miles which ever comes first from date of sale.

Too bad for me. I have 225k and the pump goes out once a week now. I have to turn off the car to reset it.

I know it sucks, but you should replace it. If it started to quit, it will die completely. Mine was doing something similar, I would leave from work and have no power steering on my 25 minutes drive back home, then it would start working again. Until it got deader than dead.

I just was able to purchase one for my R52 for $399 and that included the fan as well along with shipping from bba-reman
