error code p0705

HI guys can someone help me out please iv got a 2003 mini one 1.6 cvt and its done 55k its now gone into limp mode and will not drive over 11mph iv got EP come up on the clock's. Iv read the fault code on my delphi obd scanner and got p0705 come up with gearbox position sensor(PRNDL)
malfunction,faulty signal,permanent.The help i need is were is the sensor i need to test or change can someone put up an img of the sensor and were its located thx in advance.

Check REAL OEM on Google and look for part in the trans diagram.Should show the part # and where it is located.

HI martin thanks for your reply iv been trying now for 2 days with out any luck im getting loads of images but for other cars not for the mini one :-(
Hi martin iv tryed on real oem and still can not see were the gearbox position sensor is on my mini i will just try from inside the car first and then check on the gearbox its self thanks anyway.

Put in on google "gearbox position sensor mini cooper" and a couple of threads will come up. You can look at each one and it will show you where it is on gearbox and what it looks like.

Looked up part # on realoem It is in section # 24 on r50 section under trans. # is24357518731 Start Inhibit switch. cost $ 160.67. Hope this helps. Go to Realoem click enter then scroll down BMW #s until you get to R50 then fill in sections for your car then go through index to section 24 Trans. will show you parts and #s.

UPDATE ok guys today i changed the gearbox position sensor but i did'nt get the bmw one as it was to much money so i got the mg rover one as its the same sensor http://www.rimmerbros.co.uk/Item--i-UHB100170I fitted it then deleted the error code with my delphi scanner and the EP mode went away and the gearbox now works just has is should :-) sothat was a cheap fix i hope this helps others with the same problems.
