R53 Ticking Noise w/video Help!Please!

Hello everyone,

I am new to Mini, got my 06 MCS JCW two month ago and I really enjoyed it. However, as temperature dropped these days I found a ticking noise somewhere near the supercharger on the passenger side. Anyone know what might caused it?
Here is the video I recorded
Mini Cooper S JCW(R53) ticking noise - YouTube

" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" width="425" height="350">

Any inputs would be appreciated, thank you!

Welcome to NAM. Have a friend depress the clutch pedal all the way while you listen. If the ticking goes away, it is "clutch chatter," nothing to worry about. Motor on.

Just for kicks, with the motor off pull the hose off the valve cover, plug it real good with your thumb and have someone start the car. If the noise goes away, get a new pcv valve.

Sounds like the hydraulic belt tensioner #1 below.
Is the ticking rotational varying with RPM's ?

There is a metal strap built thru the middle of the spring. If the belt is stretched/worn it will chatter and if the hydraulic belt tensioner is shot it will make that noise too. There are a series of holes in the strap and when viewed down in from the front with a flashlight, you should see at least one complete hole showing at the top of the assembly when belt is in good shape.
