A rebuilt tranny after seal failure was installed in Feb. In 4th gear slight harmonic howl from gearbox. No oil leak. No grinding or crunching. Smooth otherwise. Would this sort of thing be considered normal. Pretty quiet in 5th gear. Any others notice this? '03 MC 36k 11'02 build.

Occasionally I hear a strange song from somewhere in the car at highway speed in 5th. At first I wasn't even sure it was coming from my MC or another car nearby, but I have heard the same sound since. I have no idea what it is, and I can't make the sound happen.

I saw another similar post on here a while back, but I can't seem to find it right now...

I'm with MINI USA. The problem you are experiencing sounds like a job for your MINI service center. We'd be more than happy to contact your service center on your behalf. If you'd like us to do that, please give us a call at 866.ASK.MINI and mention Reference # 200411000135 so that we can help you more efficiently.
