Has anyone figured out what CC ID 029 means. My stock 2008 Cooper s check engine light just came on and is showing this code. The car runs great. Auto zone plugged in to see additional codes and it said no codes found. Mini dealership will tell me what's wrong for $100. I'm tempted to just keep driving and hope the light turns off. Any thoughts? Oh and I'm 5 days out of warranty?

HA HA. Actually your dealer wont tell you!!
I just had this happen on my 09 JCW within the last month. Everything that I could find on-line suggested that this is related to the high pressure fuel pump, HPFP. There have been a lot of problems with the HPFP and MINI has extended the warranty coverage on that for something like 110,000 miles or so. (Search here for HPFP and you will find the exact details. )
Now, I was convinced that I had a HPFP problem. Went to the dealer, for diagnosis. They assured me that my problem was that I needed about $2000 of work for leaky valve covers, tranny seal, oil pan seal, brakes etc. I passed.
While I debated on what to do, it just so happened that I needed to refuel. Instead of getting my local 93 octane grocery gas, I got Shell 93.
Bingo. 150 miles later, the 029 code cleared itself. The performance returned to normal, and I haven't had a problem since.
My take. I got a tank of "bad" gas.
Try fresh gast and run the car. See if it clears itself.

Ok so I took my 2008 Cooper S to the dealership yesterday. I told them to check for a bad HPFP. They said CC ID 029 means nothing to them. They had the car all day and could not figure out why the check engine light came on. They said its not the HPFP. :-( They said they suspect its something to do with the vacuum system that opens the boost gate on the turbo. They said they still wanted to keep the car and figure out exactly what is wrong. I'm frustrated because it has the symptoms of a HPFP. So, I'm waiting for a call.

I got my car back today. The dealership had it for 2 and 1/2 days. They still aren't positive on what caused the check engine light to come on. They think it was oil in the vacuum system. They replaced a very saturated piece of the vacuum line. The light is now off and the car is running like its supposed to. They wanted me to replace the vacuum pump and vacuum system. The part alone top $750 so I passed for now. They said I will probably be back. I love this car but I'm considering selling it.

This code is not stored in the history memory of the instrument cluster thats why they can't pull it up. This engine fault is only displayed on tach cluster.I haven't figured out what causes it yet.I am going to change the vacuum hose on the turbo dump valve and see what happens.
